Evolution – RON
Trials and tribulations, lies and hesitations
Are backing us into a cage
Peaceful simulations, die in frustration
Now packing us in with its rage
The stage is set for a revolution
The peaceful man born of evolution
So let them all kill each other off, no solution
We must rid our minds of all the pollution
Cuz the wise will grow old
Ignorance will be folded and tucked away.
Now past acts back-track
We’ve rounded the bend and back again
The fast track’s action
Is bound to the end and back again
The stage is set for a revolution
The peaceful man born of evolution
If you’re stuggling I can map out your route
If you’re suffocating I can help you find a way out
If you’re hurting I can ease your pain
If you’re thinking I can help you keep up with your brain
If you’re drinking I can make sure every bottle is drained
If you’re homeless I can help you get out of the rain
If you hurry up you can just catch that train
It’s time for revolution to reign.
The stage is set for a revolution
The peaceful man born of evolution
In Your Smile – Hundo (co-written by Don Sheridan)
Waiting, drawing blank
My life seems so far away
Unexpected clout draws smiles
As I undo all these miles
The next big thing
Just makes me feel kinda small
Garnished days with popcorn strings
Only make me hungry
Only to realize now that youth is beautiful
There’s a city of lost children found in your smile
Another sweat from my brow
You’re in no way committed here to your own fall
I’m feeling down, can’t keep my feet on the ground
I’m feeling down, can’t keep my feet on the ground
Meaningless chatter just fills up this tower
Ladder – RON
It plugs up the hole just to stop the drip
It fills the whole cup to take only a sip
It’s tying it’s shoes and it’s packed for the trip
It lives next to perfection and they’re tied at the hip
It’s faded past and it’s lost all it’s tracking
It’s paling trust and it’s costly reaction
It peels back and adds to subraction
It reels slack in to gain a better grip
Memories of past time
last through rhymes and rhythms
Pass through time and scisms
to it’s own beat
A complete unknown
Like a rolling stone
You hone in and hone in on it
Drone win and drone win till you depend upon it
You get a little further up the ladder
You dig a little deeper till you get down to the matter at hand
It’s a land in your mind that few know
It’s a land where you dine on the flow
You dig a little deeper and get down to the matter at hand
Day of Bliss – RON
Drained, I strained to speak to you
But again to no avail
Pained, I rained the street for you
And each time I failed
I”ll trade all of my misery
For just one day of bliss
I’ll trade all of history
For just one kiss
She glows and glows and glows
Because she knows
Her place in the space
She’s so beautifully posed
She throws her hair
And the heaven stop and stare
A million rays of light
She’s lost in the glare
Hang on Me – RON
Carefully plucked from the sky
It’s around your neck and hanging you high
The hair in your eyes is blocking your view
There’s no way around it so you go right through
It takes you to the middle
Answers your riddle
Then poses another to you
How does time drag and fly by so fast
How the mind flags those which may show last
We’re flying through space
And what’s in front of our face
Seems so big
But we are so small
So you can’t forget your big dream
Even if achieved it is so much smaller that it seems
It fits on a tiny blue planet
You can plan it and plan it and plan it
But it will only amount to granite and dust
We are so small
So forget your big problems and remember
That we are so small
Hammer – RON
Must – RON
Now you lay low
Now you hide in the chaos
And drown in the day
So real that it all feels ok
Now it’s drying on the vine
Now it’s lying saying it has time
But we all are running out
Yeah we all are running out
We take critical polital action
And it all amounts to dusk
We fake analytical subraction
And bring it down to what we must
Down to what we must and must not do
Please just rewind and be alive again
I’ve realized again you are here
Please just rewind and be alive again
I’ve realized again you are here.
We take critical polital action
And it all amounts to dusk
We fake analytical subraction
And bring it down to what we must
Down to what we must and must not do
Where to Run – RON
Your life’s on fire
There’s no where to run
Your life’s on fire
There’s no where to run
Smoke climbing up the walls
There’s no where to run
Smoke climbing up the walls
You’ve no where to run
The missles are coming
You’ve no where to run
The missles are coming
You’ve no where to run
The bombs are falling
You’ve no where to run
The walls are crumbling
You’ve no where to run
Your life’s on fire
You’ve no where to run
Your life’s on fire
And you’ve no where to run
The missles are coming
And you’ve no where to run
They’re already in the air
And you’ve no where to run
Slick Grip – RON
Touching no ground my feet tend to stray
To find what I’ve found they’ve gone their own way
In love, in doubt, indifference won out
And I’m sorry that you had to pay.
A wall of protection no one is let in
A fall of perfection from love’s peak set in
I have once again slipped from love’s slick grip
In changing directions I lose so you win, don’t we fit?
I hope in not very long that you will see
That what I do is for you and not for me
It’s so hard to tell what the future will bring
But for now turn away and just be free of me
Just be free of me
Just be glad you’re free of me.
Harvest – RON
You sink deep in a haze
A crazed state
Up too late and out for bloodIt’s a flood and you’re swimming for your life
It’s the blood pumping you never think twice
Peace reigning down
It’s spread all around town
You’ve got the pieces all around
Now you gotta
Put em all together
Now the gun smoke dies down
And it’s part white and it’s part brown
But all alive
It’s in us to strive for greatness
If it’s late miss the bloom
And rot all the way to the harvest
The right thing may be the hardest to do
But it’s better
Peace reigning down
It’s spread all around town
You’ve got the pieces all around
Now you gotta
Put it all together
Hum – RON
All that we have done is justified
It’s rusted I’d say we’ve gone too far
We do the time to commit the crime
We’re grimy and we’re drowning in tar
It’s spun deeper and deeper
It’s spun deeper and deeper
It’s spun deeper and deeper
It’s spun deeper and deeper
We fall in line to the beat of the drum
Fear to overcome is overrun
We sing all of the words that we know
And the others we hum
Flow and ebb, bass and treble I’m a rebel in trouble
In a bubble with rubble and tears
Freaks gather round just to see what goin on
Weeks clump together years keep rolling on
It’s spun deeper and deeper
It’s spun deeper and deeper
It’s spun deeper and deeper
It’s spun deeper and deeper
We fall in line to the beat of the drum
Fear to overcome is overrun
We sing all of the words that we know
And the others we hum
Barrier – RON
So I guess I’m ruined
I have not seen the writing on the wall
So I guess I flew in
Right through the window
End up down the hall
It’s uncalled for
I’ve spoken ill will towards you
I’m at the ball core
Bouncing around but never through
Finally I break through that barrier
Only to find the taxpayers’ aircraft carrier
On a course towards the innocent and frail
It’s a jail of the mind, a hail to the unkind bind
And we cheer to our success only to turn around
And fail to find the time to finish the rhyme.
No Life – RON
I am the man with no life
It’s all strife and no action
I keep on living my life
No attention, no reaction
I am the man who gets no sun
Who gets no rain
I just laze in the gray
With no one to play
I am the man with no life
I’ve no wife
No one runs to me runs to me runs ta
I am the man with no life
La la la la la la la la la la la
I am that walk down
I am that take down
I am that stay
I am that look past
I am that walk by
I am that space
You are that look past
You are that stay non
You are that plain
I am that stand up
I am that up right
I am right on
I am the man with no life
I’ve no wife
No one runs to me
La la la la la la la
Supermen – RON
We are here to save the day
We are here to make sure everything is ok
We have come to free you of fear
We have come to tell you what you need to hear
It’s all gonna be just fine
We are super men
Taking on the frown
Saving you from stuff that’s goin down
We are super men
Taking on the frown
Saving you from stuff that’s goin down
We are here to save the day
We know everything that you want to say
We’re flying high above your town
We got an eye out to make sure that you don’t drown
In a flood
It’s all gonna be just fine
We are super men
Taking on the frown
Saving you from stuff that’s goin down
We are super men
Taking on the frown
Saving you from stuff that’s goin down
Sun Sets – Starrunner
Saintly glow, in times we grow
And it tastes like morning
And the sun sets up straight
And the drum rids us all of hate
As we stand here abreast in fate
Faint and slow, we find we know
And we steal the morning
As the sun sets up straight
And the drum rids us all of hate
As we float here, adrift in fate.
Sitting on the Beach in the Carribean Looking Up at the Stars – Starrunner
There is crying out far and near
We just scrape by year after year
We are taught to hate, taught to fear
We are so much wiser than we appear.
It’s all coming down
And we’re forced to gain ground
In this never ending war for who’s got more
It’s the obvious truth
That it’s all in our youth
Still we follow the line on the floor
Have some trust in me
I will not let you down
We will swim the waters
In which you drown
You look up to see
It’s icy stare
You see it just lone enough
Not to care
It’s all coming down
And we’re forced to gain ground
In this never ending war for who’s got more
It’s the obvious truth
That it’s all in our youth
Still we follow the line on the floor
Unnamed
A day well-framed and a shot well-aimed
A calm collected point of view
Sifting a list to remain unnamed
And they all turn into you
You leave in steady decline
I hope I get a chance just to stand in line
If all love is true and between us only years
And if time is as time was then the time draws near
Falling faster and faster from you
I can see to afar from which I flew
And if my wings might must carry me above all
I must be unafraid to fall
You leave in steady decline
I hope I get a chance just to wait in line
If all love is true and between us only years
And if time is as it was then the time draws near
Inhale – Starrunner
I see all there is to see
Float around in ecstasy
Time is you and you are me
It’s a dream far away from here
That keeps you going from year to year
Drown in love and fear
Can we just ignore today?
And fear to hard to play.
So what is this thing that we call life?
Should we live it all just to set up the fall
I find it hard to believe that we must leave this place
In order to truly see grace.
So let’s take a look around
Tell each other what we found
Keep our noses to the ground
Let us look to the sky
And tell each other why
Keep our heads up real high
Can we just ignore today?
And fear to hard to play.
So what is this thing that we call life?
Should we live it all just to set up the fall
I find it hard to believe that we must leave this place
In order to truly see grace.
Avocado – Starrunner
Shedding some light on the fight
It’s never about who is wrong or right
I am offering you my plight
That we all share one common sight
But you’re bounded by such gusting gales
And my trust while trying so hard fails
So I sink heavy toward the floor of the sea
And in comparison everything else around this world just pales
So I sink heavy toward the floor of the sea
Clear grey reflection, flatted plane of liquid glass
How I look deep within and see that none shall pass
Fingering malcontent flipping through the air
Lingering pale current keep slipping through the air
But you’re bounded by such gusting gales
And my trust while trying so hard fails
So I sink heavy toward the floor of the sea
And in comparison everything else around this world just pales
So I sink heavy toward the floor of the sea
So you look out to the sea
You try way too hard to find a trace of me
This aint how it’s supposed to be
Why don’t you just let me sink, let me be
But you’re bounded by such gusting gales
And my trust while trying so hard fails
So I sink heavy toward the floor of the sea
And in comparison everything else around this world just pales
So I sink heavy toward the floor of the sea
Liz – Hundo/Starrunner
Walking around this sunny day
I got the feeling everything’s gonna be OK
Walking around dreaming of May
The sun in my eyes I look for you
Cloud riding on my shoulder
Wind at my back and I’m one day older
Stride widening, higher to you
Your smile in my head I look to you.
Think the trees are greener today
Got your call and I’m on my way
Feeling better as I near you
Cloudy days so far away
Big plans as days go by
You give me presents and I give you sky
Not alone I won’t walk away mad
I got plenty for which I can be glad
Think the trees are greener today
Got your call and I’m on my way
Feeling better as I near you
Cloudy days so far away
Your smile in my head I look to you.
Spun – Starrunner
A single-string tuning
She rings in its waves
And rides along on the energy she saves
All day long, her heart full of love
Reaching down and aback from above
She is billowing down like a feather afall
She is wearing no crown, she will weather us all
But alas time has passed and I find we’re done
End up again spun
A single-string tuning
She sings it along
And she wishes she could sing it all night long
But alas, time has passed and I find we’re done
End up again spun
Super Daylight – Starrunner
By the light of your angel breath
I see the haze of Super Daylight
Two suns, lonely ones, found each other so bright
In it’s glare we dare lay down our fight.
Illumination, saturation, we see what’s real
The dehydration of the nation, in plain sight we feel.
Super Daylight, somehow we all understand
Never spoke the word cuz we heard it from the land
In our quest for light we have honed our skills in pre-sight
All along we know we’re right.
Illumination, saturation, we see what’s real
The dehydration of the nation, in plain sight we feel.
Dried – Starrunner
Glazed youngin, crazed toungin
he wonders how it all came to be
And in his wonder my friend slips under
And ends it all for me
This one’s for you
Thank you for your glimpse of grace
Thank you for your lovely face
And I thank you for all your assured hands
I hope that in time you will understand
And if we drive to the edge I will vow not to look down
As if I ruled the world I would never wear a crown
We are all upon this path together so laugh together
Play each and every day
Whether or whether or not they show
Thank you for your glimpse of grace
Thank you for your lovely face
And I thank you for all your assured hands
I hope that in time you will understand
The Righteous – Starunner
We are free as can be
We are deaf for the right to see
We are living for you your dream
And handing out our love for free
Do we not spread the word of god?
You cannot tell me we are not saved.
Don’t we spread love when push comes to shove?
You cannot tell me we are not saved
Righteous Pilgrims of the Funk
We have made our way through all the junk
Shrouded in trees he agrees to abide
and all of life’s ho-hum doldrums he decides to take in stride,
eyes wide to nothing too fantastic,
averted advertantly to all things plastic,
a drastic release,
he polices the increases of love flowing in and out of his air,
his hair a wild rummage of unkempt fair,
still he stares at its bare simplicity,
its rare implicity that he’s missing from his
everyday life and in every way strife is a part of his heart …
until he lets it all go.
Righteous Pilgrims of the Funk
We have made our way through all the junk
So give me a free way of life and you’ll find me home
A song for a whisper, a lingering tune for a poem
You can get the moon for a tune
And a June for a December
But you can’t have the perfect life for the price of remembering.
Uno de Juno – Starrunner
Lazing around, amidst all I found
I can’t help seeing
While I chose the prose to go along with the song in my head
Can’t help being
Blue falls like a veil
Across the hills we sail
We float upon my love for you
As blue is blue though pale.
First of June.
Blazing around, life in circle round
I can’t help seeing
While I drew a cue from you I found I’m homeward bound
Can’t help being.
Blue falls like a veil
Above the hills we sail
We float upon my love for you
As blue is blue though pale.
First of June
Tomorrow – Starrunner
You can’t tell me wrong from right if you can’t tell me black from white
And you can’t tell me up from down if you can’t tell a smile from a frown
So, you go your way and I’ll go my way
And you will find that we both will be OK
Please don’t define for me my happiness and sorrow
If you can’t tell me today from tomorrow
You look down on me in your sly snide way and you are shocked when I have nothing to say
You may hurt your arm patting yourself on the back unless you’re in a pinch someday
So, you go your way and I’ll go mine
I think you will find that we both will end up fine
Please don’t define for me my happiness and sorrow
If you can’t tell me today from tomorrow.
Jackie Brown – Starrunner
Like it or not, I got to chill a little more today
Last night, drown in blood and vodka, may keep me in bed till May
Just leave it alone now, don’t let in run you down
Just leave it alone now, don’t let in run you down
Upon rising, I found my voice, but found I had no words to say
So go on, leave it alone, go and find your way home
Call another day
Just leave it alone now, don’t let in run you down
Just leave it alone now, don’t let in run you down
Linger – Starrunner – Lyrics by Oscar Loubriel
He created echoes
For that’s all that he possessed
I heard the rustling of an empty black trash bag
Filled with mellow songs
That lingered in my mind
That lingered in my mind
I chipped and cracked as concrete buckles
Twisted wire along the highway
Mimicking torn abandoned tires on the sides of old lonely tress
Lying naked and
It lingered in my mind
It lingered in my mind
Calm heart of black rubber
Dried rust running down thick slabs of cement
Their eyes touching my hopes
Their hands watching infectious blankness
Everything covered in cages
Birds, murals, litter, honesty
Happiness, smog …
Broken windows with their backs to me
A civilized civilization of tomorrow worriers
Yesterday never lingers in their mind
It lingered in my mind
It lingered in my mind
Afro Kitty – Starrunner
She said she believes in angels
But I can’t tell if she’s one or not
I think she could ring all of my bells
But right now, she’s just not
Firing, crying, lying on the floor
Till I’m made to come back for more
Trying blindly to force my core
But it’s a bore, there must be more in store
Oh Camilla, don’t you want to see me
Found in you and now I’m drown
Clearly we can see past all that we were
Never kindling bridges to deter
When all of the crazy things that could occur have occurred
You were there along your lucid ways your curse
Oh Camilla, don’t you want to see me
Found in you and now I’m drown
What Good Am I? – Ryan Behling/Dave Wagner
What good is a starry sky if the stars don’t fall on you?
What good are these arms of mine if they can’t rest upon you?
What good is a sunset but to warn the day of night?
And without you, my love, tell me what good am I?
What good is a soothing breeze if you’re not there to soothe?
What good is my every move unless it’s to you I move?
What good is a moonlit sky except for birds to fly?
And without you, my love, tell me what good am I?
If you can hear my inquiry, I ask you darling answer these
Questions may not change your choice,
But I just want to hear your voice
What good could a heart be if it’s so easily lost?
What good is the ocean if by you it’s so easily crossed?
What good is a love song, but to make my heart cry?
And without you, my love, tell me what good am I?
Piece of Mind – Starrunner
Time goes so slow when I can’t get to you
Each night forgoes the sweating of the morning dew
Will I ever find you outside my mind?
For each hour’s a day and each day I think I may
Find the time to fill my mind with you all day
Tell me where can I find
A little piece of mind
Tell me where can I find
A little piece of mind
Around each corner the thoughts of you creep to me
The taste of your lips fills my every cup of tea
Will I ever find you outside my mind?
For each hour’s a day and each day I think I may
Find the time to fill my mind with you all day
Tell me where can I find
A little piece of mind
Tell me where can I find
A little piece of mind
Drivin’ 55 – Starrunner
Driving down south, better watch your mouth
We’re going on down toward Memphis way
No a cloud in my view, but my eyes ain’t what they used to be
All along the road, it’s all the same to me
Driving 55 the wrong way
Looking for my life along the way
Driving 55 the wrong way
Looking for my life along the way
Creeping for weeks in a broken down Ford
Not a soul on earth can ever call me bored
No a cloud in my view, but my eyes ain’t what they used to be
All along the road, it’s all the same to me
Driving 55 the wrong way
Looking for my life along the way
Driving 55 the wrong way
Looking for my life along the way
Figment – Starrunner – Lyrics by Oscar
Come down, kiss the clockless hour
Where everything’s in reverse
Hunger the understanding
Amidst disorders of debilitating thirst
I’ve been knelt on my fists
And I’ve been bent at the knees
If the world’s gonna cave in
Never said I was a savior
I’m the one who needs saving
Walking on the water of heavy tears,
Could this be reality or a figment of a galaxy?
Felt you as I jumped from the sky to the ground
We can’t believe in trust if it’s beneath us.
I’m not making sense of strangers
I thought I knew about innocence
As I dine on poisonous snakes
Her kisses hiss
Trusting upside down beliefs
In a fictional destiny
Side by side we dive into forever, momentarily
Walking on the water of heavy tears
Could this be reality, or a figment of reality?
Felt you as I jumped from the sky to the ground
We can’t believe in trust if it’s beneath us.
Succumb to the numb you
This riverbed bled
Cuz it was confused
Meager definition
These theories grow weary
To crucify or fear me
I got half a mind to
Find my better half
And make us whole

Day 2 Day – Hundo/Starrunner
Staring into space, utter void in my chest
How long ago did our wave reach its crest?
The downward spiral of loss and deceit
Making quick liquid this base of concrete
Standing tall, looking quite far away
When can you love me if not from day to day?
Standing tall, looking quite far away
When can you love me if not from day to day?
I’m no angel, don’t get me wrong
But I’m the fool who’s been loving you so long
Still can’t help my admiration for you
But how would the foot feel in the other shoe?
Standing tall, looking quite far away
When can you love me if not from day to day?
Standing tall, looking quite far away
When can you love me if not from day to day?
You cheat me, you beat me, you fail to complete me
As you still lie in my head sweetly

Flames from the Sky – Starrunner – Lyrics by Dallas
Your way to get by
Some souls may cry
Judgement impaired
People are scared
They don’t know why
They might die
Has the dark side won?
Flames from the sky
Flames from the sky
Flames from the sky
Flames from the sky
We point no blame
But some will shame
Few know the truth
Many poison our youth
And they don’t know why
They might die
Has the dark side won?
Flames from the sky
Flames from the sky
Flames from the sky
Flames from the sky
Almighty vision some will see
Humanity come to me
Don’t be scared
Please be spared.

Spin – Starrunner
Where’d you go that you learned so well
Maybe it’s within you
Caught somewhere between heaven and hell
It runs around and it spins you.
Forget the array; forget everything that I used to say
We are all fighting in our lives
To do what we should
But now it’s fuck for good and buck the hood
And get out.
Long Day – Starrunner – Ryan Behling/Robin Kelso
Caught under the knee of my chi
It’s so hard to see what will come to be
I have no clout and I have no doubt
So whatever’s allright with me.
Such a long, such a long, such a long day
The sheets have nice pleats, but they’re all used overtime
As the beats have nice cleats to dance under the rhyme
But I forgot to give you the time of day
I thought it would matter to me
I say come what may
Such a long, such a long, such a long day
The things you want cost laughter and smiles
Riches galore pave ever mile
I hope you get all you want through the years
And we shine through your tears
“Lazy days people come and go just to see you smile, my dear
It’s in your eyes that infectious glow glad to know that you are near”
So you take off and fake soft anthropological weaping
And it’s the only part of your heart I will be keeping.
Remedial poetry written menial foes forgetting
That I’ve gotten even two fold
It shatters and clatters hold a hand in a right turn
Light burn that you can return when you’re old
Or so I’m told as history’s sold
Packaged as mysteries, mysteries, bold listeries, cold facts
Laying tracks, snapping backs, old words from old men stack the racks
Lies to try by, trials to fire by and all the while we’re looking to clear skies
Hoping to find we know right from wrong
Maybe weak from strong
We’ve been brainwashed for far too long.
Chill Cut – Starrunner
Another gloomy April day
And I see that we are not here
We are all looking for something to say
Or so in silence it appears
And you say that you won’t
You look down pensively
I just figured you don’t
So, I crawl along defensively
We are one in action
We must start to look up
Blown apart distraction
We must start to look up
Ripping my hair out just by working too hard
Nameplate and suitcoat nearly caught me off guard
Gather round cuz I got something to say
Don’t wait for your break I got an ache today, it’s not ok.
And you say that you won’t
You look down pensively
I just figured you don’t
So, I crawl along defensively
We are one in action
We must start to look up
Blown apart distraction
We must start to look up
Super Daylight – Starrunner
By the light of your angel breath
I see the haze of Super Daylight
Two suns, lonely ones, found each other so bright
In it’s glare we dare lay down our fight.
Illumination, saturation, we see what’s real
The dehydration of the nation, in plain sight we feel.
Super Daylight, somehow we all understand
Never spoke the word cuz we heard it from the land
In our quest for light we have honed our skills in pre-sight
All along we know we’re right.
Illumination, saturation, we see what’s real
The dehydration of the nation, in plain sight we feel.
Blues #2 – Starrunner
I found my girl, way down and out in Baton Rouge
She said baby what have you got to prove
I found my girl, way down and out in Baton Rouge
She said baby what have you got to prove
I said please please baby,
Don’t make me choose
Then she willed me away, told me I’ve gone astray
What could I possibly say?
Then she willed me away, told me I’ve gone astray
What could I possibly say?
I said please please baby,
Don’t make me go away.
Rising – Starrunner
I’ve been meaning to tell you
What’s been going round in my head
I keep trying to tell you
What’s been going round in my head
I walk out the back door
Real slow and come out ahead
Tripping on my tongue sometimes
Just trying to keep my ego fed
On the horizon,
tandem rising from a tantalizing point of view
Welcome my friends
I trust you are well and
I’m glad I get to see it with you.
I’ve been meaning to tell you
I can’t get you out of my head
But I forget just why
No matter how hard I try
I’m leaving in the evening
On the town to get my feet wet
Throwing all my money out
I’ll take right now and I’ll chance the debt
On the horizon,
tandem rising from a tantalizing point of view
Welcome my friends
I trust you are well and
I’m glad I get to see it with you.
Twisted minds and crying souls
Desperate hearts and the force below
Don’t run from what’s to come
For its just a dream.
Less Than More – Starrunner – Ryan and Pete
This dirty world is playing you for a fool
A muddy puddle plays itself off as a pool
Yet we dive in time after time again
Seeking the exception to the rule
One step closer to war
One dollar less than more
Collected the masses stand in brown grasses
With one eye fixed on the shore
And we go to the polls and our voice falls through the holes
Blood drains of the flooded plains as they become drier
How could we forget that our situation is so dire
Yet we tire of burning our hands in the fire
So we work just hard enough to not be fired
One step closer to war
One dollar less than more
Collected the masses stand in brown grasses
With one eye fixed on the shore
And we go to the polls and our voice falls through the holes
Constant struggle to better ourselves
Taking steps back through power and wealth
See through the greed take just what we need
No need to struggle we all would be free
Feel it Wind
I could run so far with you
If we could make the time
I could spend my life with you
If you would give me the time
Feel it wind
Feel it wind
If it’s all in my mind
Please let me know
And if your love ain’t that kind
Don’t let me be the last to know
Faster, filling my head with the smell of hot
Deafening methanine with starships in between
All space and time start to unwind
And I am caught in the green
Shall I find my way to the door
Before it just becomes the floor
What else could this day have in store
A complete and utter store-bought bore.
A Hedonists Prayer
Thank you god for giving us this day
Whether we use it to work, fuck, or play
Rain or shine, we are one in thine
Our gracious host through which we shine
Mountains in the distance
What a welcome sight
We now in the mist dance
And define the trite as trite
Mopless
I fell like my sink is overflowing
As I stand, mouth agape, mopless
Wouldn’t know where to start
Even if I could make myself.
Stones piling up, securing this stronghold
But blocking it off from the rest of our fair land
And now I find myself having a seat
As just the moment its time to take a stand
Same hours, same towers, my powers wane away
Same faces, same places, no traces, different day.
Dark circles under the eyes of the world
We haven’t slept a wink since we proved false god.
With brutish force, the cadence descends
Lands with a thump, a final blow released
The tension only to ease up now our
Upturned eyes tearful and intense
We relax, we fall under, a spell hard to tell
The difference between thunderclaps and our one tolling death knell.
For fantastic dreams await us in time
Always out of reach till we invent the divine
Ah, your soul is eased now, eyes pleased now
Eden on the Rhine
The biggest mother of all fish now you’re leading on the line
So I guess My Small Problems are naught
As we’re all falling down
And I guess unless I fess I’m caught
Between a hard rock and this place.
Goodbye
How I love you, my dear
And how I wish that I could stay another year
Would I stay or throw it all away
My answer I’m afraid to say
Or speak the truth without losing kooth
It’s like biting on a rock to save the tooth
A booth set up to fret of if we’re read up
But attacking my backing get me so fed up
So redub this club with a tree and a shrub
And it’s me that you rub when you say anything
And a king and a queen could never dream to seem
So part of the team I mean all combined could ever set at ease the time we find
Frozen Moment
Frozen moment, we can see forever
And ever and ever and ever no weather
Just field of truth and souls grown plain
Calls to an end the sickening money reign.
The Way to Nowhere
On the way to nowhere, the group collectively wanders, finding things to do at every turn. A simple journey turned flash with opportunity, neccesity just a word. “It’s here, I want it. I’m used to having it.” They will leisurly consume as if they’ve nowhere to go, no purpose here but to contribute to the machine. After all, it’s worked here for so long.
He gets on the train at 95th and rides it north to work. A meager living, but a living indeed. Inspired by music at night, he puts up a good fight and obeys tradition and social norms. He speaks to no one on this ride. Train moves him silently closer and further, depending on where the sun is. If it weren’t for the cell phones ringing, he would hardly notice his transient transit companions.
He looks up at an instant where 2 souls pass. Catches the eye of a lovely woman as she enters the creeky automatic doors. He is compelled to rise and offer his seat. She accepts and they share a lifetime in a glance.
But alas, the bell tolls, “Switch here for blue”. Duty calls and in row he falls. Leaving behind a head full of love, happiness, fulfillment in what could have been called love if it weren’t already so well defined. Off to his job to help him sustain for another day so that he can go to his job.
Lost in the Desert
Lounging in the desert, playing life with an empty bank
To drag around my sorrows grows exhausting to be frank
So I suck it up and draw a line in the sand
And lean no more as it’s time to stand
Forge ahead until I’m dead, nary a moment filled with dread
As I wash my dreams out of my head
It’s no dream now, instead a way of life
Rocky as any path I could choose
But it’s only in time and rhyme and passionless crime
That the best players in the game feel they lose
So I cruise, no hands, sights looking to now
Knowing that if there’s gas in the engine I’ll move
And listen no more to the chores from the shores
And wrong the naysayers I’ll prove.
I’m too good to give up, half full is my cup
So long as I know that what drives me is truth
I will sing as if I will be the only one to hear
And what comes of what comes is moot
Ginding to a Halt
The way to god is love we know
Not like fighting a way for peace
As we fall on our knees one another we please
Tolerance and happiness will no doubt increase.
We are small, we are not right
Deep inside we must know
that not everything is solved in a fight.
We are unimportant and so is our cash
And we should take our hate out back with the trash
With you I would smile and walk 10, 000 miles
If you could just look past your stash.
Grinding to a halt, not minding who’s at fault
We will see that it’s us all who is wrong
So doubt fully our clout and shot our hearts out
A chorus as one in song.
So sing loud to right our own injustice
And sing strong if we all really want peace
And stand tall and be unafraid to fall
So sing loud and make the fighting cease
Blind Date
Brainchild, free grown easy
Still got all of your tricks to learn
What could come of my heart drawn lightly
Your sweet smell, my chosen one
I await here, eyes drooping likewise
Arrested in your intent
If all these hours add up to just that
They are considered to me hours well spent.
First Song – Starrunner
Got him up a wall, his eyes a waterfall
I hope that I have what it takes to get her back
Got her all up in a fit
I hope I can keep up with her shit
But now I have to try lest I would die.
Don’t trust me cuz I can’t be held responsible
Don’t follow me cuz I don’t know where I’m going
Do what you must to me I’ll still be
But never tell me there is no way I can win
Cuz I will destroy you, you won’t be getting out now for a while
I will implore you to follow all my rules and then I’ll smile
And I’ll go to war with you and watch it on my television dial
And I’ll never glorify you only in the name of good style.
Drive
Fly onto my rescue
Drive on my way
Your voice creeps in my ear
I dream of you my dear
Drive with me to up and around
Drive with me to my favorite view
Classical Music on Lunchhour
And so now I grow more and more alone
Like minds diverge and find their own
Fear of losing touch, fear of fearing too much
Fear of admitting we’re grown.
But from the corner I hear a piano
Tickling notes from heaven past
So for now I hold on to this lingering moment
Petrified for it to pass
So you jog my mind, flow through my pen
Words far too refined for very refined men
But then oh then but then oh when
Can I feel your wind again?
You blow to me as leaves, thunderhead above
You reach to me like trees, lightning bolt of love
Straight to my head
Straight to my head.
So old, in classics we are steeped
And knowing we’d burn, you leaped
Silent midnight, wind askew
Symphony of soft, culminates in dew
As risen sun fights sleep
This reminds me of you.
So behind frozen smile you walk with me each mile
Adding strength to my ready-steady steps
And to those who think we’re living a trial
I pray to your god you’ve slept.
He is yours, yours is mine, and in sharing words we see
That we are talking of the same thing
A great Collective WE
All That I Dreamed – Damage Control
This is a dream come true … me and you
All other plans are made and you’re still standing in the shade
Just you
You keep me marching along
I keep doing it even though I know it’s wrong
But when you’ve looked for so long
It’s so easy to fall into the throng
Trumpets soar, you’re a bore, and I just realized
Your eyes match how I feel, I’z
Gonna find my way around you, pound for pound you are not what you seem
And I can see that you could never be all that I dreamed you’d be.
Slumber
Drawing corners on his smile
He stops and considers it for a while
Drugged up fantasies of tragedy barely escapes
Raped the delicately draped paper machee too late
He is falling in and out of slumber now
As his mind rambles he start to wonder how
It was now he proceeds to drop trou
A roller and holier than thou.
A stranger relented to let me in
Stoned faces facing glory and story apart from one another
Grow stone cold in the face of the thief
Poetic mumbo jumbo in peace releases our grief.
Can you ever imagine a tired summer night
Late October, maybe, a bit of a chill
Where lonely lovers come out of their shell
And breathe life into this still life.
How could I ever remember your names
When all of your faces look exactly the same
Seems a dreams gone yet we still trudge on holding a grudge on all whom we deemed have wronged us
Never let up steam so we reem one another out
Never ever to have any doubts.
Crystalizing, memorizing every little thing you do
Signifying, empathizing, never wan to wear that shoe
Stray, gone away, and can’t find his way back
Train, gone astray, can’t find the right track
High above, how did he get to be so free?
Tell me when do we get home.
Waiting for the Call
Growing weary of my home
Like a scab I can’t leave it alone
Masochistic, intrinsic, musical viewpoint
Waiting for the call, waiting to appoint.
Scarring over now I can see just how
You love me unconditionally and I can’t believe I can see
How to wake each hour.
Through Your Eyes
History repeats itself like dwindling wealth
From across the room you could barely see me scream
Intrinsic abundance, how long can my health hold up
Through your eyes, you can hardly see what I mean.
Pain up front like a brick wall
And I can’t stand to watch you fall
A stick man taking his stick ball and going home
We wait and wait for him to turn around
Hold hope for his shadow on the ground
Till the horizon flies in
Drowned he found his way home.
Thick Wheels
I love you but I just can’t set this cross down
I adore you but I just can’t stay in the this town
So I guess you’re free to go though I know
That I have let you down.
Tears roll like the thick wheels of a train
As the idea of elsewhere trolls in my thick brain
But my dear I knew this all when you came
Still my love for you refuses to wane.
Uplift me, please, I’m in need of a laugh, as you know
Stay with me one more night before I have to go
Help sift me a pile of gold for us to share
Then this is one more day I can bear.
The Train
This train don’t stop till the end
So you best be riding it with a friend
Some stops you’ve forseen, some you never could’ve
Some spots you’ve been, some you never would’ve
And it’s the port in between you and your destination
That both embodies and stirs up the stagnation.
Underground, no further down can I go with these things
Graze around nor for I found the emptiness it brings
Shed of our gowns and crowns we are all just kings
And from the same earth blood we drink.
So, don’t look at me like I’m a stranger
I’m you no danger, no anger, you’re drained or
Heads all out of whack and something like that
I want to get through your gaze without being pat down.
I am you, you are me together we are the same we
We are supposed to be, it’s free and I can see that you are sneaking around my head.
Train
Early fall, winds brisk upon my cheek, I awake and fill up another day of another week
All work, play is a state of mind in which I used to spend all my time. But I’ll get back there, because at once I did care; viciously clawing for each day.
So I congregate with the people of my fair city and ride the train to work. Got a good seat today, one of those suites with a view. An unused captains cubby, which upon its vacancy is open to the public. It’s myself and two others. We’re riding in style.
Clark and Division is next. Some will exit, most will not. Silence … The roar of the train is filling our collective brain, rendering it too loud to speak. Too close, so we choose to not note the carbon around us and what it has to bring. Not one a passerby, but a being with a story, too long to get into on the train. But, perhaps a glimpse, a breath, a catch of the eye will give us the insight we miss when we sit right amidst our fellow man.
But who am I to talk, head down. Downtown I don’t talk to a soul. Except for the folk around every day with whom I have built a rapport. But I guess the city has a way of making one lonely. Sometimes you just need to be alone. And if you never know if someone else needs to be alone thus we are reluctant to bother out of ingrained respect.
We’re all too nice, I guess.
In habit we inhabit this city as one, but you are all still strangers when the day is done.
Racing in the Dust
Life is too short to go through it angry
But I can’t help but let it seep in
I guess it takes strong will to detach
When the machine has you in its grin.
Teeth gnarling like gears away the years
My sleeve is caught and it’s drawing me in
Tears falling as peers’ squalling makes truthfulness wallow in sin.
Perhaps I’m wrong about us
Maybe we’re supposed to live cold
As each passing second we’re growing old
It’s too long without trust
Maybe I shant be so bold
And say that we grow young stead of old.
But time doesn’t stop to let anyone in
Express train racing in the dust and the dinge
So I hope you see what’s happening to us
Pay no mind to their rapping to us
And find a way off of this train
But we invented it too, like we invented me and you
So how much worth could it hold
Forget the playground bound to forget that beautiful sound
it grows quiet as we grow old.
Flipping pages and ages, somehow now I’m fully grown
And out of the blue will I know you and all that I should’ve known
It’s blown, this cover, so we hover over construction
Of the same name
In the same game
In search of glory, riches, and fame
You’re crazy if you think I would pass the blame.
Ah but the sun’s rays show that we could never go too slow
Since we could never compare to it’s grace
Even in it we see that we would cease to be without its bright warmth on our face
So just remember we’re nothing except fertilizer and stuffing for this earth of which we feel we own
But in the end we’ll return to burn in our mother
And if we could we’d realize we’re nothing more than the dirt from which we’ve grown.
Of the same mind
Of the same kind
How many clues have you left behind
And heavy now the wheels start to grind.
Things you Want
The things you want cost laughter and smiles
Riches galore pave every gilded mile
I hope all that you are is preserved through the years
And all that we are still shines through your tears.
Trailing cold breeze, riding on its frigid heels
We toss our woes about, trusting in future meals
But no path is unyielded, love shielded by doubt
And what we don’t know won’t hurt to find out
Open your eyes, my friends, to why we get up
And from the rain around you fill your cup.
You Would Kill
Bowed out, graciously giving way
Forded sea a walkway to play upon
It’s with ease that I freeze, stop pause to look around
And choose with faith in karma the words to say
But how much good do I do you
In my never-ending quest to skew your view?
They say ignorance is bliss so shall I leave you to do what you will?
I could surely try, but in the end you would kill
It is said that everything around knows right from wrong
And in the knowledge of evil we’ve composed our own song.
MotherEarth
In our deep frozen lungs we share this rare air
Acting out this play for a crowd of each other
Share and share alike and in flight we dare to care
For that, we can thank some god for our Mother
A collective mother, the universal care-giver
We thank her by breaking her heart
And of her children, we are but a sliver
Still we thank her by falling apart.
Samantha – Starrunner
He traces his steps back ends at the start
He traces his mind back and ends with his heart
From time to time he sways as years turn into days
In a haze we are amidst the good part
She shant look elsewhere to find her minds eye
A picture-perfect immediate now always going by
From high and wide she looks over the amassed masses
And jumps to wish sincerely she could fly
They meet up, him afall, her ascending
And they see the beginning is just an ending
To each other they flutter and mutter of befriending
A moment is all they have, always lasting always ending
